Sunrise artists create a new wall each year and each artist, any grade level, can purchase a tile for the wall. We have created a GREAT WALL every year since 2001, the year the school opened! We'll be creating our 8th wall this fall 2008 and we look forward to having every artwork featured on the wall! They are truly "GREAT" and so are our artists!

The artwork for this wall was created by students under the direction of Arizona art teacher, Nancy Murray. This wall was so popular that a tile wall was installed at the school's district office and featured artwork from students from all schools. |

"This project was done as a tie-in with the opening of the new addition to Perry Elementary. Every child created a drawing for a tile. It was installed by a dedicated parent who donated his time and service." The chorus and the cafeteria share this special space. We thank, Principal, Debbie White |

Self portraits bordered with bold black border tiles and white tiles enhanced a stairwell area at a Wisconsin elementary school. The header "Faces of the Future" adds that extra special touch to this wall! |

Framed with colorful wooden frames, this school celebrated the seasons of the year by Elden's students. The results are fantastic, don't you think? Two more walls have been installed since the "seasons" tile walls and photos will be added soon.

Photo 1 & 2 = Nancy Sams, art teacher, created self-portrait tiles with her students. Natural wood frame borders the tiles in this special location at her elementary school. Nancy created her own special coil tiles as a center focal point indicating the dates!
Photo 3 =Gina Sullivan, art teacher, had special corner tiles manufactured along with the 5th grades self portraits. The tiles were installed in honor of the 5th grader graduates at her elementary school.

Photos will show you the installation process. The self portraits created by the students were superb and full of vivid colors! Marilyn Seebeck, parent volunteer coordinator and Debi West, art teacher, made this wall possible at another Gwinnett County elementary school with the help of other parent helpers. Great job everyone! |

Incorporating art benchmarks and standards in each grade level project, art teacher, Sandy Bacon, worked with students to create unique works of art for our fundraiser. The artwork was so nice that we felt it would be a great year to order 108 tiles for a wall. Since we are a small school, funding was a challenge. Sandy teamed up with Student Council Advisors, Sharon Quigley and Cathy Harless. We worked together to make it happen. We came up with the idea of selling SNOWMAN PRETZELS and thought we would sell a couple hundred, taking orders in a presale. We sold 639 pretzels! Proceeds funded the tile wall and all supplies to install it. After expenses, we made a profit of $894.02! With the help of of TWO of our friends, four of us spent the weekend dipping, decorating, packaging pretzels. A parent volunteer and friend installed our wall. We had our grand "unveiling" at our annual Gallery Hop Art Show. We hope you like our wall and also check out the photos of our famous pretzels....you'll love it!

Take a look at our wall BEFORE and AFTER! Our staff and students created fabulous artwork and ordered "edge to edge" tiles. Our entire school family attended the unveiling and were so excited. Square 1 Art's, Ann Marie Reid shared our special day and took these wonderful photos. Thanks Ann! |

Annie Kruse invites you to view 15 journalistic photos that include an overview of original drawings, planning, installation and completion of their wall. Thanks Annie!
Our wall was created for the opening of our new school. The students from kindergarten through fifth grade were instructed to create drawings with the State Visual Arts Standards in mind. Also, they could draw anything they had learned in their art classes, keeping in mind the different styles of art: Non- objective, Realism, Abstract or Pointillism remembering the famous works they studied by Kandinsky, Miro, Mondrian, Matisse, O'Keefe, and Seurat.
The wall is a wonderful way to show off the new school! It gives a nice focus point and a permanent display in the lobby of the school. The students are excited about the wall and their parents are very proud of them too. This ia a great public relations project! We will be having our unveiling ceremony when the school opens in August 2007.
